Woman Killed By Airport Rail Link Train

A young woman fell on to the tracks and was killed by a train on the Airport Rail Link early Monday morning at Thap Chang Station.

The incident happened at around 7am leading to serious disruption to services with trains only running between Phaya Thai and Hua Mak, and Lat Krabang and Suvarnabhumi stations.

The woman, who wasn’t named is thought to be around 30 years old and was a regular at the station according to staff with Daily News reporting she was six months pregnant.

Her death was captured on station CCTV and shows the woman take three steps forward and fall on to the tracks.

Many speculate she took her own life with others believing she was unwell and fell accidentally. Of course, we will never know the truth.

A spokesman for the ARL operator said all stations would be fitted with barriers by the end of April 2018.

Normal services between Phaya Thai and Suvarnabhumi resumed at 11.30am.
