Check Inn 99

Check Inn 99 is on the move again. Having been in one location on Sukhumvit Road between Soi 5 / 7 for over 60 years, it is proving beyond a doubt that the pop-up bar concept works having had 3 locations in the last 8 months and it’s about to relocate to what is hoped to be its permanent home in Soi 33.

The new location is still not official as final reviews are being made to the deal, I should be able to confirm the actual location mid-week.

This week will be its last one in the current Sukhumvit Soi 11 venue above Zaks wine bar, with their last performance on Tuesday 28th March.

The popular Filipino house band, Music of the Heart, will be taking a well-earned holiday back home after 17 years not seeing their families. The bar will be closed until the renovations in the new venue are completed in early June.

I will be able to give more detail on the new much bigger venue very shortly, which will offer the original theatre restaurant atmosphere of the old Check Inn 99 along with its famous steaks.

The owner has much more planned for the new facility including more performances, shows, art galleries, jazz and blues.

At a time when many bars and entertainment venues are closing down due to escalating rents and other conflicting influences, Check Inn 99 has stayed ahead and been able to leverage its unique no-hassles entertainment format and very loyal customer following.

Soi 33 has went through a massive decline in the traditional hostess bar format in recent times – this could very be a turning point for the Soi to become popular again.

Watch out for more details later this week.
