Who wants to eat Western-style Chinese food in Bangkok when there’s so much great grub available in this fine city? Me for one and by all accounts plenty of other expats too who want a taste of what they know and love from home.
There’s hasn’t been anywhere knocking out classics like a beef curry with onions since the place on Soi 13 closed a few years back until Golden Bowl Western Style Chinese popped up a few months back.
Located near Silom, Golden Bowl specialise in old British favourites such as chicken balls and chips with sweet & sour sauce on top, Pork Chow Mein, Salt n Chilli Chicken to name just a few dishes on the menu.
Ordering is easy. You can either call, message via their Facebook page or take a trip to their restaurant and sit in. I went for the FB ordering option and it was a breeze.
– Beef Curry
– Chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce
– Beef in black bean sauce
– 2 portions of fried rice
– 1 portion of chips
I actually live a fair way from Silom but the food arrived in no time and I was actually surprised it was still hot – a bonus for me.
It all tasted just how you’d expect but I’m not going into it all dish by dish, bite by bite. All I’m gonna say is anyone fancying a taste of home, Golden Bowl is the way to go.
